About
Growing up in New York, a place where noise, movement, and color were part of the daily vocabulary, my earliest photographic influence came from somewhere far quieter: the rich black & white landscapes of Ansel Adams. His work opened a door to places I never had visited but wished to visit.
As my professional endeavors evolved, the practice of creativity stalled, and only years later did my photography evolved being drawn to the raw, imperfect immediacy found in the work of Daido Moriyama — the urban compositions, the blur, and enjoying the tension grew more with my visit to Marina Abramović’s work at MOMA. These influences tailored my visual language.
Previous photo series such as Occupy and They Will Never Kill Us All, examine the friction between cultures, and yet their need for each other to have purpose. The images in Andalucía collection is about people and long held traditions, it’s vital. Silence and Toying With Me is a vital reflection of our environment and mood.
My photographs have been recognized at juried exhibitions across the U.S. and Europe, including the Pollux Awards in Barcelona, the Muroff‑Kotler Visual Arts Gallery, BAU Gallery, the Miami Photo Salon Festival, the Grand Prix de Découverte in Paris, the Garrison Art Center, and the Barrett Art Center. Jurors have included Stephen Shore, Harvey Stein, and curators from major institutions.
I’m interested in delivering a missed perspective to those who shelter in clarity.
